St Robert’s High School is a Christian minority school established and administered by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Darjeeling. It is affiliated to the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and the Council of Higher Secondary Education. It was founded in the year 1934.

Our founding fathers were visionary men who realized such a long time ago that education is the only way each of us could improve the quality of our lives and uplift our communities. The school was, therefore, opened with the purpose of imparting education to all who sought it regardless of affordability and also to encourage and popularize literacy. Most people and families build upon the foundation of success laid down by their older generations and St Robert’s, by imparting education to many first generation learners, has provided the first building block of success to many such families.

Learning is now a way of life, However, even in this age of information, there are still some who do not have the means for an education. So our core-purpose remains the same- providing wholesome quality education especially to such students. Along with imparting knowledge from books, we at St Robert’s aim to form a caring human community by moulding conscientious young men of competence, commitment and compassion.

Each student is special to us and has the potential to change the world. Therefore to remind each child of the power of his potential, at every assembly, we proudly shout and repeat the powerful confidence building motto our founding fathers chose for us – “Admaiora Natum Sum- I was born for higher things”.

It gives me great pleasure and immense satisfaction to note that the little boys who shouted “Admaiora Natum Sum- I was born for higher things” so many years ago have gone on to achieve higher things in life and have generously helped us to create and host this website.

Thank you & God bless.
